Jowar & Pear Appam

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup jowar flour

  • 1 ripe pear, grated

  • 1/4 cup jaggery, grated

  • 1/4 cup fresh coconut, grated

  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 cup water

  • Ghee or oil for greasing

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine jowar flour, grated pear, grated jaggery, grated coconut, and cardamom powder.

  2. Add water gradually to form a thick batter.

  3. Stir in the baking soda just before cooking.

  4. Heat an appam pan and lightly grease each cavity with ghee or oil.

  5. Pour a small amount of batter into each cavity.

  6. Cover and cook on medium heat until the edges turn golden and the appams are cooked through.

  7. Serve warm as a healthy snack or breakfast option.
